The community feedback has been overwhelming from the presenters and the town hall participants. Everyone was moved and grateful for the information exchanged by the presenters and by those actively sharing resources via chat.

The Level of Engagement

People began registering by the hundreds when word got out there was a State of Emergency Town Hall Meeting to deal with Black Unity Healing and Solutions for COVID-19 and Beyond. 300 sat in the waiting room before the virtual doors even opened. By the end of the 4-hour event, By the close, over 1900+ concerned citizens of the global Black community attended. 22 presenters laid out solutions in the following areas of

Employment/Economics
Mental/Physical well-being
Education
Environment/Sustainability
Planning and building
Media and Technology
Politics
Culture and Spirituality

Dr. Mawiyah Kambon, psychologist and her daughter Nataki Kambon, management consultant and architect of the BlackTherapyCentral.com co-founded the Black Therapy Central. The idea birthed years ago but came to reality in late 2019. They together with a powerful team including Kwadwo, Kala, and Dr. Obadele Kambon from the Abibitumi.com, Elliot Booker from Time for An Awakening Media, Ka’ba the Soul Singer, the moderator, and Dr. Anthony Smith, Jamila Codrington, Afiya Mbilishaka, Dr. Wade Nobles of the Black Therapy Central Network all played pivotal roles in what was an incredible launch planned and carried out strategically in under 10 days.

What’s Next?

With a town hall that size there were bound to be some tech challenges but most were managed and overall participants left with tools, tips, and resources. Many have already requested to view the rebroadcast and that Black Therapy Central convene another follow-up event. More will follow.
